Week 9

Tena Koutou ki te whanau! I hope you all had a great week with Mrs Whibley. She really enjoyed being in our class and teaching you all!! The time in Wellington gave me a chance to think about my teaching around Religious Education and how to improve on this. It was also a great chance to get to know representatives of other schools and what they are doing in their schools.

Matariki starts this Thursday. Matariki is the cluster of stars that is also known as Pleides and it comes around late May, early June. For Maori it symbolises the start of a new year. Some of our learning over the next week will focus around Matariki!

The Whanau Group would like to extend an invitation to all staff and their families to a pot luck dinner on Thursday the 25th of June at 5.30pm. The dinner is to celebrate the cultural diversity we have in our school. EVERY FAMILY IS INVITED.

Come along for some fun conversation and get to know our community. Last year was great fun.

Here's what's on this week:

Wednesday: Singing Practice. Library.

Thursday: Matariki Starts.
3.45pm Filipino parents’ mtg in Staffroom. AGENDA. National Stds Feedback and General Business.

Friday: Golden Time. Assembly. Home Readers bring in your books!
